All Might would never do that kind of hero work. He wins by being the best. Best Jeanist has incredible technique and instincts and self-control. He's heroic enough to agree to do that, for the sake of the greater good. Risk his own life. What did Hawks have to do for the league besides 'kill' Best Jeanist? What terrible things did he do in the name of getting information out of the League? Even if it's a good portion popularity contest, how does a number two hero be someone like that? Is the number two spot cursed? Only certain kinds of people can earn that spot? Those not good enough for number one and sleazy and terrible enough to somehow get number two?

Katsuki shakes his head.

"Of course Jeanist agreed to it," Katsuki says. Jeanist is a hero. Plus, Hawks wouldn't get the drop on him. He'd be the one to end up tied up. "Heroes aren't supposed to do that kind of work."
