It wasn't physically possible for Izuku to get any smaller, any more folded in on himself. But he wanted to. He wanted to just disappear. He felt - coming here, following Thirteen, was a mistake. He should've kept going with what he set out to do. Izuku always knew that his friends would be angry with him - especially Katsuki. But if Izuku could do what he needed to, it didn't matter.
Now, he both couldn't do what he needed and his friends hated him. His eyes burned a bit. Izuku hadn't been so affected by what Katsuki said since he decided he'd stop being his punching bag. And Shoto coming after him, too? Just made it all worse.
"You guys are heroes. I believe in both of you," Izuku said, quiet and choked up. "I do."
Perhaps he had stopped believing in All-Might - it's kind of hard right now for him to trust a lot of the adults, knowing what he did now, feeling like the whole world was falling apart. Wondering if things would just return to how they've been, with people getting hurt swept under the rug. Heroes not actually saving people.
But he believed in Shoto, in Katsuki, in all of his friends. He hugged himself tighter.
He's listening to both of them, too. Psychically linked? That was ... new. But what can he do about it now? He asked, in a small voice, "You said ... you took down All for One, Kacchan. Was I able to actually do ... anything? Am I just hurting people?"
