Zack knows the answer pretty much immediately, but to give it a fair shake, he does think carefully about it for a long moment. He hadn't met a lot of other SOLDIERs by name in the war itself, and while he was friendly with plenty of 2nd and 3rd Class back at HQ, none of those names ring any bells. His answer remains the same, and he shakes his head. "Sorry, man. I never met any of them. If it makes you feel better, though, I was on a special assignment. There weren't a lot of us in the area."
They could be dead, sure. But they could also have vanished with the collection of SOLDIERs who defected with Genesis, or... retired? Could SOLDIERs ever retire? (Probably not.) Granted, defecting with Genesis would not have led them to a better fate, either.
