[Young Fjord had clambered over these rocks so much he could do it in his sleep, but with the small owlbear's paw in his grasp he took it a bit more slowly, making sure not to pick any of the spots where the rocks wiggled too much or were too slippery or treacherous. Just finding a nice flat spot to settle down, laying the hat out carefully in the sun, and finding a pair of smaller stones to pin the brim so that it wasn't carried off by the wind again.

Watching the little half-orc smile at Rue and gesture to the spot next to him in invitation, Fjord couldn't help but feel a stab of envy at the idea of making a friend that young. Would it have changed anything? Likely not. But... maybe it would have been easier to bear, to not be so painfully alone.]
