Now, the downside of walking backwards is you kind of can't see where you're going, and that means what happens eventually was inevitable: he veers just enough off the path for one foot to catch on a stone just large enough to tilt him off-balance, and he finds himself tumbling backwards and right on his butt, where he sits flummoxed for a moment before just.
