Welcome to Folkmore's Ten Things to Ten People meme!

Sometimes we all have trouble saying things we really want to say to people, or feel like there are reasons we shouldn't. But getting it off your chest can be good.

- Pick ten people (or however many you want, I'm not your boss) to write brief messages to them specifically. Negative or Positive. Post them, anon, or you're really brave, attached to a screen name.
- Do not say who they are meant for.
- Everyone is free to respond, or even guess for whom the message is intended.

1. Why do this 'meme' at all? Why not say what you mean to the people you wish to speak to?

Sometimes people need a little push. Or to push themselves, to open the door.

Some of these are definitely for people not here.

That implies they want others to discover their passive-aggressive comments to them, if they can read them here.

It makes more sense if they are not here to read them. They are things they would say if the fox brings them here.

3. You understand others who are like me. But you refuse to understand me. Why? I don’t understand unless it is a deliberate choice.

It's not always about being passive aggressive. That implies a certain mean spiritedness. Sometimes it's about being in pain, or being afraid of pain, or rejection.

Which I think, from your messages, you understand very well.

If that person was here, I would tell them that.

If others are in pain, or would be rejected - why admit it at all? Why let other people hurt them again?

Because sometimes our fears are wrong. At least, based on a misunderstanding, or incomplete. Sometimes pain can bring people together, as much as it drives them apart.

It can be easy to misunderstand other people.

Especially when people do not have the same types of hearts, or minds.

I am, or mostly, I think. There's lots of kind of sentient beings, where I'm from, some of them can make kids together. Plenty of non-human, in my adopted family.

But there's degrees of differences, culturally and biologically, yeah. Other bases for existence.

I see. That is different from where I am from. But not strange in this place.

Do you have inorganic sentient beings in your reality?

We do. My galaxy often does not treat them well, or even care to recognize their sentience. Admittedly, there are many different kinds and levels of intelligence, in droids.

So. While admitting I probably have biases, some I may not even realize, I can also say I count an inorganic sentient being as family, too. Chopper. He's older than me.

Someone took good care of him. We can wear down and age, too. Humans can forget that.

There are many different robots and androids where I am from, too. Most people don’t recognize they can be people. We are seen as tools at best.

Hera, my foster mother. All they really had was each other, for a while, I think. She's here in Folkmore, if you'd like to meet her. Chopper is not.

I'm sorry to hear that. Am I correct in inferring that you are an inorganic being?

Maybe I will. It is a shame Chopper is not here. I would have liked to meet him.

I am an android. I find the term “droid” a little strange. But some realities do not have androids or sentient organic beings at all. I have learned to ask.

I have been here for some time. But I still have things I want to say to people in my home reality too.

I have been here for about a year. There is no-one I knew from before even still.

How I feel is complicated.

I am not human.

That is right. Falling stars, but they are a metaphor. Even fake falling stars usually cause a lot of damage.

Does your reality have robots or androids? I have learned to ask.

that whole wish on a star thing
but really u can wish on anything i dont think it matters

and yeah smth hitting that hard that fast is gonna leave a mark

every one i met there was cool

That is new to me. 'Wish on a star' as a phrase. But it would make sense, in a place that can see many stars, to have that phrase.

I was not designed to be 'happy' or 'sad'. I do not understand how humans experience those emotions.

But that is because I am not human. People who are not 'cool' with androids don't understand I have my own experiences. My father designed me, but he did not understand my functions.
