Pandora's Fox II

PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

This is game canon!

Forms for your characters!

[a little silence, a sigh and what comes out has no sarcasm in it.]

Bummer.

[allow her to entertain the ridiculous, please. she does that. she once princess carried a grown ass man on her back across the roofs of trench. for science.]

I could probably backpack you if that was ever on your bucket list. You know, if you wanted to feel the wind in your hair, the stomach drop of falling twenty feet safely and all that.

[ The idea... he has to laugh. It's fond laugh, one that sounds excited. ]

That does sound fun. Probably better in a Familiar form rather than being sadistic enough to have you carrying a whole other person.

[ He doesn't remember the last thing here that sounded fun. It's very much out of his comfort zone-- but perhaps that's not a bad thing. ]

I'm pretty spry in that state. No damage to my feet. Maybe if it goes well I could run with you like that. But I do think a trial run would be best.

[his laugh coaxes a little laugh into her voice - not hard to do.]

I've carried a person before. He was tall and liked to swing a sword around, and I carried him like he was a sack of potatoes. But you're right, a familiar form would probably be easier.

What do you turn into? 'Cause I gotta say if this place gave you bad feet in both forms, it's time to file a complaint.

[is that a thing they can do here? is there a complaint department? in trench she'd just yelled at the ocean, or ...well, sometimes petitioned people (in)directly, but she hasn't learned the ins and outs here yet. things have been ...weird.]

Maybe you could, if you want. I'm down. My name's Vi. Ignore the rest of that bullshit up there, it's only kind of true. [it's totally true.]

Nice to meet you, Vi. I'm Arthur. It sounds like you're strong. I don't doubt it if you run on rooftops for fun.

A jackal. Small one. I've fit in a backpack before.

[ His animal form seems to... do as it pleases. He's learning to make peace with it. Maybe getting some of that energy out in an activity like this can help it get under control. ]

What about the part of your survey that says you tend not to avoid things you should? You aren't apprehensive about exploring any part of this place?
faceblocks: (sure sure)

[personal profile] faceblocks 2024-10-18 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey Arthur. I'm pretty strong, yeah.

A jackal's a...[have a pause as she searches her relic for a moment, and a realtime reaction that she doesn't think to censor.] awww, you're cute! Kinda like a foxdog?

I do have a backpack. I could clear it out and make room, or you could just hold on. [with paws? could work. maybe?] Or if you've got the feets for it in that form, which you look like you do if I'm looking at the right jackal, just keep up or pass me by.

[she might be strong, but she's not as fast as most animals unless she's really digging into abilities that aren't quite second nature.]

That part's ...true. But I was been being smart about it. Now I'm waiting until this chaos is over because ...giant sticky hand, moat, et cetera.

[personal profile] scalesbalance 2024-10-21 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, a foxdog's a pretty good description of it. I think riding in the backpack is the way to go.

[ The jackal almost has his own personality. He's like a laid-back version of Arthur, carefree and much friendlier. He can remember excursions in this form after a long sleep. It's strange and a little hard to accept the lack of control and yet he's getting used to it as time goes on. ]

We'll wait for the setting to come back to normal then. If anything needs repairs or cleanup it might be a good way to get between areas or blow off some steam.

[personal profile] faceblocks 2024-11-02 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Backpack it is. [it's waterproof and it doesn't smell like potatoes anymore. mostly.] Hell yeah, it will be. That's a hell yeah to both things, by the way. [in case that wasn't clear.]

Call me crazy, but I'm kinda looking forward to the cleanup and repair phase. [not that she wants things to be in disrepair, she can just be useful that way, and it's a good distraction.]
scalesbalance: <user name="scalesbalance"> (Default)

[personal profile] scalesbalance 2024-11-13 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing crazy about that. I think a little enthusiasm related to the cleanup will...probably help.

Do you enjoy helping people?
faceblocks: (yeah yeah)

[personal profile] faceblocks 2024-11-15 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[catch her at the right (wrong?) time of day and she'll be less than enthusiastic, but she'll still do it. she's been a hunter of dread beasts, done endless patrols, search and rescues, food drops, helped with outpost construction and welcoming new sleepers back in trench.

her free time was just as full: tattooing, helping at the sanctuary, learning first aid, all the karate, the ninja school and running roofs. somewhere in there she was (constantly) looking after her sister. keeping tabs. not a bad thing, not a thing she'd trade for the world.

but even though sleepers hardly slept, she pushed that to the limit, too. making up for lost time, evening out the odds, putting something back where she felt like she'd only taken. oh, and then there was helping coach a children's volleyball team, bodyguard duties, and taking small boys under her wing to teach them how to run roofs, dodge a punch, maybe take one if they had to. so ...yeah.]

I'll bring snacks. Food's a good motivator, and hey ...maybe some of us can make a healthy competition out of it. Whoever hauls the most junk gets ...I dunno. A free round of drinks? Free tattoo?

Someone should bring tunes.

[she has answered the question without actually answering it. it's a yes.]

Free tattoo--

[ He has one. His response might be a little haunted-- definitely skeptical. The Disciples of Ammit, his former commune, all did. He guesses he can say the tattoos were technically free.

But he's been trying to move on from that life. Everyone has been telling him it was wrong-- he's gotten tired enough of hearing it that he's starting to quantify the possibility that, perhaps, it was.
]

What kind of music do you like? I can't guarantee that I'll find something perfect but at least I'll know what to look for.

[ He also knows people are from all different worlds here-- Arthur is always willing to ask questions to find The last thing he remembers listening to back home was some terrible old country station in the hospital he was incarcerated in. ]

[personal profile] faceblocks 2024-11-15 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not picky.

[She means it. Sansa had introduced her to so much music, as had Jinx (who was always finding things) and the Entertainment Feed had been a plethora of whatever exists in the worlds. Robby had found her new metal to listen to, so ...she'd danced and fought and worked to a varied catalog.

her relic switches modes and is propped up to show her sitting visible from about the waist up, the greyscale gear on her neck is clear.]

Don't worry, when I say tattoo, I don't mean like this one. [she points to her face, slight eye roll, slight smile.] I mean more like this. [a turn of her shoulder to show off more gears, more machinery.] Or not. I do animals, too. Pretty much whatever.

[ The idea of a face tattoo makes him shudder. When she shows the tattoos on her shoulder he leans closer to inspect the details of the gears and machinery. ]

Wow. Mechanics-- is that something else you're interested in? Or just the look of it?

[ He rolls up his sleeve to show his forearm. ]

I just have one. It's-- probably something I should leave in my past. Maybe cover it up. Do you do that kind of thing?
faceblocks: (seeing)

[personal profile] faceblocks 2024-11-16 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Fun fact: I'm not all that mechanically inclined. But my little sister is. [the is comes quick - it has almost been a 'was'.] I was locked up for a while, had a lot of free time on my hands. Thinking about her was one of the only things that got me through it alive, I think.

[she might have been more reckless had she not had powder to get back to - she couldn't have known what had happened in the interim. couldn't have done anything about it even if she did - though she sometimes imagines ...she would have broken out.]

Prison's not the first choice for picking up a skill, but whatever works, right? [her delivery is casual, and she peers at the relic, nodding as she tries to place the symbol and assuming it's astrology.] What's the one with the scales, again? [someone knows this, surely.] Gemi...ni? [nope.] Bad breakup?

Yeah, I can cover it, I've done a lot of that, but it'll have to be something kinda big. Detailed. Are you okay with color? I used to only do black ink, but I work with color, too.
scalesbalance: <user name="scalesbalance"> (pic#17393990)

[personal profile] scalesbalance 2024-11-16 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I mean-- doing the time takes longer if you're just sitting around. The last facility I was at encouraged finger painting or being sedated-- learning tattooing seems like an infinitely better skill.

[ He was last in a psychiatric facility-- it seems wrong to judge anyone for being locked up. It's a strange feeling still considering judgement was his thing for so long. ]

Ammit. She's an ancient deity-- she judges a human being's soul. If they are corrupt she destroys them. I used to help her--

[ It feels like a breakup sometimes... a lack of purpose, really. Everyone's brand ensured they belonged to Ammit. His? Once it could judge people's souls. Here it does nothing... but sometimes he stares at it and wonders if it's relevant anymore. ]

Color or black is fine. I'd pay you-- anything you want in particular?

Hard to keep occupied when they just leave you in there to rot. Well, not accounting for the surprise beatdowns. Sometimes the surprise was a little more than they bargained for, so hey, more alone time for me.

[also, maybe the guards shouldn't have fucked around and found out. she wants to be sorry, but she isn't. not really.]

Huh. Ammit. I've never heard of her. But don't take it personally, I haven't heard of a lot of things. Judging, though? I know that one. Had a bit of beef with the last judgy [what is a pthumerian even? deity works here. it's close enough.] deity I---

---okay, by last I actually mean ...that was the only one. I know corruption, too. Couple different ways to slice that, but I think you're talking about the one that's not related to blood pollution. Not a fan of either one.

[used to help her ...what? the obvious option might seem to be judge, but she doesn't press, because he cuts himself off. changes the subject himself. and if he wants a coverup? yeah, maybe don't dig there, vi.]

Lucky for yoy, you've got time to decide. We can always start with black and if you wanna throw in some color, then boom. We do that.

Lunch is cool. Dinner, breakfast, whatever.

[she will absolutely work for food.]
