PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

Everyone's either a witch or a demon back home. Now, me being a wild witch, of course, still made it a bit risqué, but eh. It was a living.

( Demon... There's another word that stands out. Another accusation used against a little girl. To think that there could be a world out there where everyone falls into one of those two categories is.. startling. Rose is drawn right to this conversation like a moth to flame. )

Those words are considered accusations, where I'm from. Horrible things can happen to people, if they think you're a demon or a witch.

Wild witch? You're not like the others?

Yeah, yeah, I know. Humans get weird about this stuff. 's why I used to wrap my head in a scarf whenever I went to your place.

[ She points at her ears, which are... quite pointy.

Her expression darkens a little as she continues talking. ]

Aaaand, nope! See, the Emperor of our little island decided that magic needed to be controlled, and to do this, every witch had to enter a coven. But I refused! And so, I became an outlaw. Because the Emperor said wild magic is bad, which is a) nonsense and b) as it turns out, all part of his own nefarious plan.

( There's a soft, wry smile at that. )

Humans really can be the worst kind of monsters, sometimes.

( But she's focusing intently on the other woman's words, eyes widening a little as she listens. )

Why is there always some lead asshole with an ulterior motive deciding to control everything?

( She doesn't come with heaping doses of bitterness by that very concept, not at all! )

That's terrible... I'm sorry. Are you able to live pretty freely here, at least?

[ She waves a dismissive hand. ]

Aside from being subject to Fox Lady's whims... yeah, actually. Though, let me tell ya, I don't know about these Roles she gives us. Sounds kinda coven-like if you ask me.

[ Just another box they're involuntarily put in, granting them some abilities and not others. Eda doesn't like it. ]

But hey, at least I don't have to run from the cops all the time!

[ She laughs with a snort at her own joke. ]

Do you think the bonds are bad, or is it just not for you?

They're not for me, and I wouldn't trust anything that fox lady does. Nothing personal, but hey -- you wouldn't trust any old stranger in the Boiling Isles either, would you?

No, of course not. I get it. [She was mostly curious.] I'm wondering what benefit these bonds offer, though. Have they been helpful to people? During trials or otherwise? I don't think we get enough information about them unless we go digging.

Eh, to be honest, I haven't given them much thought. But if you wanna find out, why not ask around? Though I suppose the fox lady should be forthcoming with information, considering she wants us to form them.

If she isn't, now that's the time to be suspicious.

I may do that. I'd probably only consider making one with Luz, but I don't want to do anything that might be dangerous or troublesome for either of us.

[Mostly for Luz, though. Protective girlfriend is protective.]
