PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

My parents usually made me regret it. But I'd only refrain until the next book in the series came out. [Adults can be the worst sometimes, controlling children! Huff.] I do enjoy that part of re-reads. Getting to the best parts, spotting things you missed...

What'd they do? Mine didn't do anything. I kept to my schedule because I thought it was important, but I'd usually try to add a nap sometime. Naps are good when I'm that tired. [ She liked her schedule, but Alluka isn't so rigid she wouldn't do anything to break it. Like when people visited? That was the best. The schedule could go out the window then! ]

I've reread almost all my books at least once. Well, at home. Here I read books for literature class, and I don't love all of them, so I don't reread those ones.

They liked to take away things they didn't approve of- things that were "beneath us" as Blights. Books, toys, friends. I'm glad yours weren't like that.

[Things can be somewhat different now that she's older, but in the early days, they could be as controlling as they wanted.]

I didn't realize parents would ever do that. That's so mean.

[ Alluka cannot help making a face at that description. Both the idea that parents would take away books or toys or friends and that any of those things would be beneath someone. It makes her appreciate that she got to explore whatever books she wanted and got all the toys she wanted. Friends, well, Big Brother was allowed to visit when he wasn't busy. ]

Oh, I am happy to share books! I've read a lot, so I have a lot of them to share. Oh that's exciting. I've never discussed most of them with people.

You've never been part of a book club? What about visiting a library back home?

[ Alluka shakes her head. A book club? A library? She's been to libraries here, though there usually aren't that many people in them when she goes. Perhaps it's because there's so few Star Children here. ]

Nuh-uh. I left home for the first time shortly before coming here. I grew up entirely on our estate.

[ Her voice trails off at the end. ]

I see... [How strange, the differences in their upbringing. It seems like Alluka had a supportive family, but was isolated. Amity's family was unpleasant and broken, but she's always been in the public eye. She wonders what she'd be like if she'd lived that kind of life.]

I'm glad you can go out any time you want, now. The world is beautiful, isn't it?

[ No one's life is perfect, and it's not worth being jealous of anyone's life either. It's best to make their lives better together. ]

Oh yes! The world is amazing. It's even more incredible than I ever read about, and I've found more amazing people than I ever expected!

Do you think you'll get to explore your own world more when you go home?

Oh yes, that's what I was doing when I came here—exploring my world with Big Brother. Our parents only approved him taking me to the hospital to see Gon, but we're going to see the whole world!

Oh, is your brother sneaking you away to do more?

[That sounds devious. But also awesome. She approves of you, big brother!]

I guess you could call it sneaking. We were supposed to go home afterwards, and he was like NOPE I'm not doing it. So our parents knooooooow, but we could be anywhere in the world! What are they gonna do about it?

[ Alluka giggles a little. It's the most epic sneaking out possible. There's not even any butlers with them! ]

Ooh. Then it's more of a sneaking away! I've never tried that before. Is there a particular place you were planning to explore?

[ Sneaking away. Exactly. It's funny to consider what they did sneaking away when they're parents knew they were leaving, but they did escape all the measures and watchful eyes their parents put with them. It counts! ]

No. We went with Gon to the World Tree because he was meeting his dad there, so we just started in that area. We want to see the whole world!

What is the World Tree?

Oooh oooh! It's the biggest tree in the whole world. The tour guide said it's 1784 meters tall, and I couldn't see the top of the tree from the ground. It was so big and so beautiful. There's paths around it up to 500 meters.

I'm so glad I got to see it. Even Folkmore doesn't have a tree like it. If it did, you could climb the tree to reach Never Fade. Amazing, right?

Wow... that is amazing. What a huge tree! It must be ancient, or magical, to grow that big. Maybe even both!

I suppose it could be a nen related tree, but the public doesn't know about nen, so the records I have about the world tree wouldn't reflect that. Otherwise, I'm not sure! It's been that height for a while! Whatever it is, it's super cool. I'm glad I saw it. It's the only one like it in the whoooooole world.

[ Not technically true, but Alluka doesn't know that. ]

I'm glad you got to see it, too. It sounds incredible. I don't think a tree anything like that exists in my world. There are some big trees, but nothing on such a scale!

I wish I could show it to you. It's something of my world I'm really proud of. Not that I have anything to do with it existing, but we all have unique wonders. It's one of mine.

I wonder if we could find tweezers in this world. Then you could show me.

[ Alluka thinks of the small item used to pluck hair from one's eyebrows or remove a splinter. She's sure that's not what Amity means. ]

A plucker? I think it's something else in my world, so even if you told me in detail, I'd be subconsciously thinking of mine.

Oh, hmm. Those are different from tweezers. They're special magical tools that can pull a picture from someone's ear, showing a memory of some point in their life!
