Pandora's Fox II

PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

This is game canon!

Forms for your characters!

[world hopping strikes her as less strange than it might have a few months earlier. she's seen an in-between place in her own realm, and heard mister lex talk about travel through more than one realm, so. not very strange anymore.]

Oh, I ...know some about blood. Certainly not that it might freeze when spilled, but I do know there are certain things at play that...mmm. Less visible things, let's just say.

[her barrow blood is why she's likely a myth - it's 'likely why' a lot of things. it doesn't feel right to just accept something that fine without some fair exchange, even if it is lore. lore's currency.]

I'll agree to that as long as I can compensate you for the time spent, as well.

[she doesn't charge for tinctures of a certain kind when a woman (or her family) can't pay, but she most definitely did when they could - things like that take time to craft, and some take longer than others. the luxuries she made? she might charge a wealthy person double if the mood struck her. but it's all fair as far as she's concerned, even if the rules fluctuate.]

Like a family curse, maybe? Or magic abilities? [ They always said her family descended from the first witch that was burned. Given the things Stella has spoken of (and what's written in her profile), it sounds like she might know better than most. ]

You wanna keep me company while I paint it? I can't promise I'll call you over for every session on it but enough that I think we could call it compensation.

[is it a little needling that sharon gets right to the meat of it? yes, but that's also what she likes. so. her huff is a soft pushpull of pleased displeasure, and no one's forcing an answer. it's freely given.]

Well look at you, Miss Two-Birds-With-One-Stone. [that doesn't sound displeased at all by the time she's finished speaking.] Both things inherited, the latter stronger than the former, much to my...

[oh. well, she'll just take a pause and search for the word. she can't sum it up, untangle it, explain it without context, so she just adds:] ...let's just say I would have been fine if the scale had been tipped. But we get what we get, at least for now.

That works just fine. I find shying away from promises to be a form of self preservation, if I'm honest.

Uh, to be fair to me, I wasn't really aiming that stone for your birds, but... [ Oof, she got both! Something about the answer strikes her as familiar. Some days, Alessa wondered if her powers were a curse. ] Do you not like having magic? I mean, I'd get it. It's kind of its own curse depending on the world.

Some birds are just unlucky. [a soft, lingering pause - she's reflecting back on a literal handful of birds now.] I liked it just fine until I learned it wasn't enough. I was better built to withstand the curse than my brother was, and all the magic in that holler or the next couldn't unfuck him. Us.

Maybe you just have good aim. [or instincts. she can respect both]

Nah, I grew up thinking I was cursed, and that's why I could do... I don't know, psychic bullshit. [ See, that's not good aim or good instincts. Psychic bullshit is a curse. Maybe it would've been different if there others like her but... ]

It doesn't feel like magic if it can't help you.
