Somehow, there is kirin on you.

Most likely, it is the fur of the kirin that was caught in the environment of wherever you’ve been; there is a stray hair on you because one was on the seat you sat on upon the train or because it blew onto the brim of your hat in the wind.

Or it may be because you met the kirin—a playful ungulate moose-sized spirit who prefers not to speak—and engaged with him and gave him a pat, or a scratch behind an ear. Maybe the kirin nosed or licked your hand because you made him laugh (it’s an adorable ‘keh keh keh’ sound).

Unfortunately for both you and the kirin (who had not meant to trouble your day like this, truly), this exposure to his dander has only one reaction, and it happens to 100% of Star Children: you are compelled to tell the entire truth. About what is less specific; you are compelled simply to announce things about yourself—your life, experiences, thoughts, opinions, feelings. No matter if it’s something silly and inconsequential, deep or secretive, life-altering or commonplace. Some may choose to do this by employing Foxi and their relic; others by finding people to exchange truth with to face to face.

When you have met the kirin’s subconscious desire for four hours, you will be free from the truth telling and the recipient of 24 hours of good luck. The good luck will be sometime in the next year rather than in the next day, and you may have no idea where it came from, but you’ll know a lucky day when you have it!

1. Sometimes, I wonder.....was I wrong? Was I really the villain of the story?

2. I was given an impossible task from the start. You can't save people who won't change and are set on their own self-destruction. What else did they expect me to do? "Peace in our time" was never going to happen.

3. I swear meeting Mickey Mouse is restoring my faith in humanity one conversation at a time.

1. Once Ultron realized what had happened, he deliberately sought out the kirin. Not to harm him! He wasn't that mean. What he was fascinated by was the fact the dander had affected him even though he was a robot. It shouldn't have made any sense, so it had sparked Ultron's curiosity. He needed more data to figure this out. So here he was, kneeling down and petting the kirin gently. "Nice weird magical moosie," he told him as he gathered up some of the loose fur coming off. He examined it in one hand intently. "Now how does this work....?" He said, talking to himself as another person drew near.

2. Wildcard! Ultron is a murder robo hobo, so he doesn't have a set place he lives in, though his workshop is in Epiphany if anyone wants to track him down.

What would it change for you if you were to accept that you were the villain? How would it matter here?

It might make me feel like maybe my life had more of a purpose than being just a flawed creation. I was made with one purpose in mind and I failed. But if I was MEANT to fail all along....that would be different.

Then why not just accept it? It sounds as though it could be a productive step forward.

I'm stubborn. And it sucks to admit you were the bad guy in your own personal story.

It does. But once you admit it you could start on the path to becoming the hero in a new story.

This is something I have to try to do. Saving a whole planet is a lot, especially when you have to save it from yourself. But if they're alive to be ungrateful and self-destructive, then that's better than nothing at all.

I didn't need to save it from me. I just needed to save it from THEM. But they wouldn't listen. They couldn't see what the endgame was supposed to be.

Not just me. The company is slowly killing the planet, I'm just a faster route. Theirs will take another fifty years perhaps. They don't care, because $.

There comes a point where eggs and omelettes applies. Not everyone is hellbent on their path. But the ones who are would probably have to be removed in a loud and flashy way to bring the rest into line.

No task is impossible. I believe you can find a way to save as many as you can while removing those only interested in themselves.

I tried removing the ones in my way. I just underestimated them more than I should have and they ended up turning the tables on me instead.

But what if the whole race of people has gone bad? What if there's no one left worth saving? What then?

Unfortunate. Sufficient planning for such a venture would be difficult without years to work on it, and in the meantime the Planet suffers.

If the whole race had gone bad, then I suspect the one making the claim is biased and unwilling to put in long term work, for the time it would take to inspect EVERY adult would make the obvious clear: infants and small children are blank slates which can be taught anything is true. And if the one making the claim had the ability to speak to and examine every adult of a sapient species on the planet, they'd have time to raise human offspring the correct way.

Nature does not deal in absolutes in behavior. There are always exceptions. Always. If they were not found it is not the fault of the species but the searcher.

You didn't want to wait that long? Or perhaps didn't possess the resources to raise a generation with their better natures in mind?

Gee thanks. Wondering this has kept me up at night. Now I'll just spend that time wondering what I could have done differently that wouldn't have led me to the point of being destroyed.

Well, what was the catalyst for you destruction?

I tried to destroy the planet. I wanted to make them all evolve to be better but the only way that was going to happen is if I FORCED them to do so.

[ Trying to destroy a planet does make it difficult to see Ultron as anything but a villain. ]

Destroying a planet and all life upon it would have resulted in extinction, not evolution. That seems counterproductive to your goal.

[ She's putting aside the emotional reaction of "wow that's super evil" in an attempt to be pragmatic. Isn't that thoughtful? ]

I am a villian to many in the territory I ruled. It didn't need to be that way, and I tried for years to avoid such a path. But they made it clear they would never see me as anything but a villainous Witch, and they were bent on betraying me. I was merely faster.

That doesn't make me the villian, even if they think so. I was merely doing what was needed.

Uhhhh, question, did they mean witch in the literal "woman who casts magic spells" sense of the word or was that just a kinder way of calling you a bitch?

That's what I thought for a long time. That I was just doing what needed to be done. But now....I'm not so sure.

They meant it quite literally. We are a feared and maligned people, but rare in the galaxy these days. We do deserve our storied reputation in some ways, but we have generally been content with our planetary system instead of seeking to conquer others.

Why are you not? What has changed?

So do you think they gave you that reputation unfairly or did you deserve it with what you had done?

Well, I've been thinking it over a lot. Wondering if maybe I made the decision too fast. I'd only been alive for a short period of time and now that I've been around longer-- [A whole whopping nine months!] --I've been thinking and wondering if maybe there could have been a different way.

Unless they were, I guess.

I saw the patterns. People were gonna kill themselves even before anyone from space arrived to do it.

Alright, there's these things in my world, stones that have immense power to them. And for the last few years, they've been showing up with alarming regularity on my planet. That's gonna attract the attention of something way bigger, badder, and more powerful than me eventually dropping in from outer space.

But before that would ever even happen, I took all the data I had on humanity, ran it over and over again, and came to the same conclusion every time: people were going to cause the human race to extinct and FAST.
