Pandora's Fox III

PANDORA'S FOX III

The application Pandora's Fox, last seen buzzing on everyone's relics in October, is back. It's about finding your Familiar bond or perhaps other kinds of bonds. It could be the start to finding your soul mate, a new family member, or other kind of someone special. The point is connection. While it's always available, it's gotten loud again.

As part of its return, the app has been rejiggered with questions old and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

This is game canon!

Forms for your characters!

That's kinda cool. Can you hide that shit, too?

Of course. I wouldn't be very good at stealth if someone always saw a butterfly when I read their mind.

I wouldn't think so, but you never know. Powers can be wacky like that.

They can. You know, I don't think I've told you this but originally I was simply precognitive with some basic telepathy. I've also had other abilities beyond my current telekinesis and telepathy.

So I guess my powers have always been wacky.

Mine were limited when I was younger, too. Just telekinesis and precognition. I sometimes wonder if trauma helps shape what we can do.

We can start a club.

In my case I know it did. Which is a bit unsettling to think on.

Will we have meetings with a pot luck?

Unsettling, and shitty. What changed? I don't think I'll ever know for sure myself. Too young.

Duh. And not shitty donuts and coffee. We bring good food.

Do you want the story? It's rather complicated. But I'll tell you if you're curious.

Wonderful, just don't expect me to cook anything.

I'm always curious. If something is too complicated for me, I'll let you know.

As long as it's good, I don't think anyone will give a shit if you cook it or not.

The first big change to my abilities came after I was nearly murdered by a man named Sabretooth. The first indication that trauma may help abilities strengthen and change. When my body was changed and I was brainwashed my abilities further strengthened and shifted to be more combat oriented.

After a battle with an demonic psychic entity called the Shadow King I lost my telepathy altogether. I had to lock him in my mind to defeat him and that meant I couldn't use my telepathy. Not too long after that a teammate of mine and I went through a strange ordeal that resulted in our powers being swapped. She gained my telepathy and could actually utilize it, and I gained her telekinesis. After my death and resurrection those abilities became even stronger and more unpredictable. I could shatter mountains if I wanted to. Or was angry enough.

Then I was briefly put back in my original body, but I'd been brainwashed to kill my best friend and to protect herself she completely destroyed that body. When I was put back in this body I suddenly had both my abilities. Gives some strong evidence to trauma really shaping things.

[ Holy shit, Betsy. Please give her five to process this. ]

That does give some strong evidence that trauma shapes our abilities. Thanks, I hate it.

You've really been through some shit. Is the Shadow King still locked away inside of you?

You know, I'm going to be rather honest here. I thought all that information would end up too much and you wouldn't ask anything else.

I've learned a lesson here.
[ Or had a lesson hammered in more: nothing seems to really deter her. ]

No. When I died he was set free. Now that he's realized I'm alive again he's become rather singularly focused on revenge against me. I suppose I should be honored by the attention.

If you don't want me to ask questions, you've got to say that, Betsy. I like knowing. [ Especially knowing the people she likes. ]

Honestly, I'd focus on revenge in his position, too. Wouldn't you?
