He very nearly smiles at how quick she is to move into a more readied stance, anticipating a fight that will never come. And a losing fight for her at that. Instead, Vergil simply watches her rise properly to her feet, moss bed and stuffed dragon forgotten for the moment as Vergil imagines he now has Lady's undivided attention.

"As am I, but this is a strange place and our hostess finds ways of amusing herself," Vergil says. As he implies, likely by the fox spirit's will, it would seem Vergil has been made the responsible welcoming committee for those from his world rather than his brother or son, or even Trish. Both descendants of Sparda and the demon would likely be better suited to the task even if their stay in Folkmore is nearly a year shorter than his own. It's also far from his preference to be the first familiar face anyone sees given the likelihood it's an unwelcome visage to most Vergil knows. But it is what it is, and Vergil knows better than to fight it when the effort would ultimately be futile. "Apologies that my brother could not be the one to greet you. I'm sure he has yet again been excluded from this trial, and is lounging about peacefully at home."

It's becoming a strange pattern how little Dante seems to ever be involved in the trials set forth by Thirteen. For the number of times that Vergil has been brought into them against his will even before his brother's arrival, he would think at some point the same would be true for the younger son of Sparda. Especially when he is likely far better suited to the majority of the fox's games. But it seems Thirteen has not taken a shine to or interest in Dante at all. Perhaps that's why he lagged behind Vergil in following him to this place for so long. Vergil chooses not to dwell on the thought for long.

"In any case, if you leave this cavern, you should eventually come across a train station. Take it to Luann Station and head in the direction of Willow without leaving Epiphany altogether. I trust your skills are sharp enough to find Dante from there." There's a small beat before he adds, "Nero may very well be there, too, at present."
