It's foolish how immediately V feels the need to step up to those words. Not to disappoint Vergil, a more powerful and complete version of himself. V knows what Urizen thinks of him, that Vergil does not hold entirely the same opinion, but undoubtedly Vergil has higher standards than V does. He understands and values his weakness more, but he has not had to grovel and depend on others the way V has been forced to, not since he became whole. V will live and find something for himself. He was already resolved, but his will clasps ironclad.
