PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

I don't know who I am. I don't deserve to be called a fisherman, I was chosen as the shadow mage against my will, and I was forced to become a murderer to protect the people I have left. Take your pick. You should have just let me answer with no one.

I spend a lot of time in: Never Fade, Exile, Baba Yaga, and Tides

I choose these areas because: I've always wanted to sail the skies, and to visit the lost souls in the Shattered Spoon Shrine. I like the danger in Exile and I'm suited for the place. Practicing magic, why else? The promise of art keeps drawing me back, despite my fear of drowning.

Regions/locations I avoid: none really, sometimes Tides.

I avoid them because: You have already made me talk about one of my deepest fears, what else do you want?

I think I'm a Myth because: Besides painting me as the villain again? I don't know and I don't want to know what Thirteen sees in me.

Reasons I would form a Familiar bond: To form a deeper connection with someone I care about.

What I want from a Familiar Bond: The ability to keep them safe, and to try to fill the void left behind by my friends back home, if that's even possible.

I have these physical traits: Someone has a cruel sense of humor. I have black scales under my right eye and down my arms, as well as some on my back. I also have feathery spines on my arms so I recommend you don't sneak up on me, not that I would advise it in general. Other than that I have annoying claws, and fangs that appear when I'm angry.

How I would rule the world: I wouldn't. Someone forcing their world view on everyone, no matter how well intentioned they think they are, is why my life is such a mess.

My favorite forms of self-care: Art, particularly painting but I enjoy exploring other mediums. I also like chess and high places.

That's not a bad guess. I might have if Never Fade was an option when I first got here, but it wasn't. Also after living in a treehouse the windmills feel a bit claustrophobic.

I was. The sea on my world was made of magical shifting sand so it's not the same here.

Yeah, it was incredible. Imagination gave magic a physical form back home and the Sea of Sand reflected that.

So it isn't a natural feature? [ A beat ] ... Or well, that's the wrong way to say it, isn't it? Magic is probably pretty natural.

The answer to that is complicated. Althiya was a bit like this place, where magic and imagination were just as important as logic, sometimes even more, like how the whims of the moon affected the Sea of Sands and gave us unpredictable seasons. So in the way that magic was deeply woven into the world you could call it natural, even if magic itself is not.

It may have become fundamental to the natural world but that doesn't change its unnatural origins, and that's all I'm going to say about it.

The Siyfan culture revolved around the Sea of Sand so fisherman who braved the perilous sea of sands were highly respected. My dad was a fisherman and I earned my place among them after he died. That was before I became the shadow mage.

I did. I almost died doing so and I have the scars to prove it.

Yeah fishing out animals, crystals and exploring ruins, all while fighting sandstorms, dodging the sea demon and whatever other surprises the sea has that day. There's nothing quite like it.

Sand demon, singular?

Yeah, the sea demon was a giant sea serpent who roamed the sea of sands. To the fisherman she was the mystical guardian of the sands.

Oh damn, that's a real famous serpent then. Especially if its gotten known as a demon.

Yeah she was. She had always been a part of the sea for as long as anyone could remember and she was the greatest danger to fisherman. Yet instead of trying to hunt her down, the fisherman respected her authority over the sands. It's the first lesson young fisherman learn and it was a right of passage to bring back one of her freshly dropped scales. Their glow faded with time so you couldn't cheat and find an old one.

Most people chose to track the sea demon down during a season where the sea was relatively calm. I was desperate to prove myself so I chose the seasons of storms for my trial. The decision nearly cost me my life and my father's ship but I earned my place in a way that no on could question.
