PANDORA'S FOX II

If you were here last June, do you remember that app that appeared on the relics then, Pandora's Fox? It's all about finding your Familiar bond. It's been available for people to use since every Star Child was forced to fill it out or have it filled out for them with its grand reveal. However, it's sat quietly in the background unobtrusive to those who didn't click to see what it was about.

Until now.

That's right, Pandora's Fox is back! (and with a makeover). The app has been rejiggered with old questions and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a Familiar bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!

Familiar bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

I don't know what to put here. I'm Casey. There's a ton of things I still don't know about the world so I ask a lot of questions. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps me out. Also I was raised by mutant ninja turtles.

My favorite of these colors is: Blue

I live in: Epiphany

I spend a lot of time in: Epiphany, Gram, Thoth

I choose these areas because: My family lives in the first two, I go to school in Thoth.

Regions/locations I avoid: Exile

I avoid them because: It's awful. Everyone knows that already. This question is stupid.

I think I'm a Familiar because: I'm better at following orders than giving them.

Reasons I would form a bond: I already got one, because I wanted to do it with someone I love and trust. I wanted to support him and let him support me.

What I want from a bond: Love and trust...? I'd want to feel empowered. I hate being weak.

I favor these animal forms: Owlbear and bunting. I can become a pangolin but it's always felt pretty useless.

I am interested in: I don't need another one. I guess if I did I'd prefer a Legend to see if it's different.

The way to win me over is: I don't need much. Care and support. Be a good partner. Tell me what to do when I'm lost.

My dealbreakers are: Real evil, the kind without remorse. Alien invaders. Mind control. [....] People keep saying this is a dating app. It's not, right? I don't want a date.

Don't worry, Casey, it's definitely not a dating app, it's just similar.

I haven't seen anyone include alien invaders in their dealbreakers yet. Does that tie in with mind control, or is that a separate issue?

That's good... [Phew.]

And it does tie in, yeah! Aliens infect whatever they touch and turn them into monster zombies. They control them and make them attack people, or guard their ship, or patrol their territory... it's really bad!

[If life were less weird he'd probably sound like a conspiracy theorist, but.]

That sounds genuinely horrifying, Casey. Was there any way to free people from them?

Not really, no. In every case but one, it's been a death sentence.

Fuck. But if one person can survive it, that means more might be able to, right?

I don't know. Maybe, probably not. It took a special power that most people don't have.

[He's not gonna out anyone, though.]

—oh, shit, well that's good to know. [ She's assuming the good guys won here. ]

An alien invasion was always pretty low on my apocalypse scenario. I don't even know why. Zombies just felt more possible. [ And his aliens made zombies so... Casey dealt with a crazy double-whammy of apocalyptic horror. ]

[apuckalypse]

[Mmmmmmmmmmm you know what, he's just. Gonna let that fly on by. Because while "good" isn't the right word for it, for him personally, on the whole she's not wrong. So sure, it's good. In at least one timeline, the good guys won.]

Do you know if aliens exist in your, uh, universe?

[fogsong]

We've never had official confirmations of them. Space is big and all, I figure there are aliens somewhere out there but if they're on Earth, we sure as hell don't know about it

That makes sense. I've heard there's lots of other aliens, and some are friendly. I hope if your world gets aliens, they're some of the nice ones.

And if you hear someone say "Krang", run.

Krang? What do they look like?

They're like these nasty pink glob monsters with tentacles, and they fight using huge suits of armor.

The pangolin's pretty cute, though. [Squint.] I don't think I've seen the, uh... bunting?

I think it's cute, too! Definitely not the issue I've got with it.

[He thought familiar forms were supposed to be helpful, but he has yet to find an actual use for it, besides squeezing through small windows when he locks himself out of the apartment or something.]

It's a bird! A painted bunting. Rue helped me look it up. I can show you, it's so tiny.

Oh, it's the birb! I think I have seen that, I just didn't know what it was called.

Pangolin's part of the front claw brigade. [She considers.] But I see where you're comin' from. They're diggers, aren't they?

[apuckalypse]

Yeah, they're like armored anteaters. They dig into the ground and eat bugs, they curl up into a ball of scales to hide from predators, almost like a turtle. Rue and I watched a few documentaries about them.

[And then it got kind of depressing so they watched fashion shows instead 8D; ]

It's a little on the nose, though.

Mmm. [When you put it like that, yeah.] I mean, it sounds like your first familiar shape is maybe not one so much you can use as one that kinda represents you? But like... maybe as you've moved on and gotten to know a different and safer world, your forms are branchin' out.

[apuckalypse]

I never thought of it that way. [Fitting, though.] You might be onto something there. I first found out about the owlbear after I was adopted, I changed to protect Rue. And I got the bunting after making the familiar bond with Hunter, and he's the one who helped me remember how much I loved flying as a kid.

[Ohhh there's like at least two whole stories there she wants to know. But given Rue is involved with one of them and she doesn't want to break any potential confidences, she goes with the (hopefully) lighter one (given as a kid has apocalypse baggage).]

You did, huh? Who took you flyin'?

[Apocalypse baggage is right, but Casey still manages a light enough tone in response. (Well, as light as he's managed to be the last few weeks. It's been kinda rough.)]

Usually Master Michelangelo. His mystic powers were so strong he could levitate himself around and fly wherever he wanted. When I was small enough and he wasn't busy he'd put me on his lap and fly me through our base. He said it was to keep me out of trouble, but no one believed him.

[Mikey's way too much of an instigator for that to be plausible.]

[Cackling.] Yeah, we're onto him. That does sound kinda fun, though. [...horrifying circumstances of your life aside and all.] So I'm glad you got a bird form.

I ain't got a flyer, but I did turn into a dragon while you were a kid.

I talked to a guy who let me borrow his magic dragon scale. Apparently there's dragons up in the mountains or somethin'? I gotta go up there and see if I can get one of my own.

Seriously? I go to Wintermute all the time for school and I've never seen a dragon...

[Though he doesn't go up to the mountains or anything, just the school and its surrounding area.]
