PANDORA'S FOX III

The application Pandora's Fox, last seen buzzing on everyone's relics in October, is back. It's about finding your Familiar bond or perhaps other kinds of bonds. It could be the start to finding your soul mate, a new family member, or other kind of someone special. The point is connection. While it's always available, it's gotten loud again.
As part of its return, the app has been rejiggered with questions old and new, including some specific to each Role! The app will buzz and open itself with a blank profile waiting to be filled out. Star Children can fill it out for themselves—as long as they don't lie. This app will not allow Star Children to lie. Honesty is important in a bond. Star Children who lie may find that answer filled in a little too honestly and unable to be deleted. Anyone who waits too long to fill it in will find it answered for them!
Bonds come in all different shapes and sizes, so find the right person for you!

May I ask how old you are?

That's good. It'd be sad not to be able to interact with people physically.
I turn fifteen next month!

I think it would be strange to not have that capability, too. Especially when my friends are so touchy.
That's an excellent school age. I hope you continue enjoying it to the fullest.

It's better than studying on my own, that's for sure. I don't love all my classes, math seems really removed from... everything, but it's so great to have people to discuss books with and learn how to really understand them! [ Her nose wrinkles at math. She knows it's useful to society, but there's people who like that kind of thing. They can do it. ]
no subject
I think you'll find math to be more useful the older you get. Although not quite as useful as teachers might imply it to be. There's a middle ground between.
no subject
Surely there's a level of math beyond which you really won't need it and you can stop. Sure we don't get change when we exchange Lore here, but I know that's something I'd do with money back home. There's often some math involved with games, but it's pretty sumple.

There's always a balance to be found between learning and utilization. I'm not sure if it's possible to know exactly how much math you'll use throughout your life, though. In my opinion, it's much better to know more and not use it than not know something when you need it.
Not to mention, learning new things is very enjoyable.

[ Alluka sighs. She cannot help but sigh an exhausted dramatic teenage sigh at a good point being made that suggests she do something she doesn't want to do. Yes, she's already doing it, but she doesn't have to like it. Uuuuugh, math is so boring. There's no story, no romance, no connection to what feels like what makes life go round. Just numbers and variables. ] You're riiiiiight, but you could say the same thing about history or any number of subjects. You could spend a lifetime learning and not living to know so much more than you'd ever need!
Well, learning some things certainly is.

[Poor kid. He remembers (vaguely) the days where he'd learn math against his will, because he and Sorey would rather be exploring and discovering the secrets of the ancient world. But those math skills have come in handy... sometimes...]
Isn't that wonderful, though? A lifetime of discovering new things. I could do it for a thousand years and not get tired.
[He's approaching a quarter of that already!]

[ She doesn't say Big Brother and Gon separated so she could travel with Big Brother. It's not bad, and she doesn't feel guilty for them splitting up. This is simply a first conversation! You don't say everything in a first conversation. ]
Oh, there are so many books in the world, I could never read them all. Because the more you read, the more other people write, and there's more stories to read. Plus, I might write stories someday!
A thousand years is a long time, but I know some people here live that long. I'll think about that if I live as old as my great-grandfather is.
no subject
[He'd like to ask why they split, but if someone asked him that, it would be both sensitive and unpleasant to delve into, so he knows better. It was a good reason. That's the best he can hope for, for now.]
You should write stories, if you feel inclined. I wrote a book once, and it was as much a learning experience as reading a dozen or more.

[ It would also get crowded if she included all their friends and family, then those people's friends and family. They'd wind up like at Amrita again, and as much fun as that was, she knows people have more fun now. ]
Oh wow, you've really done a lot. What was your book about? Why did you write it? Can I read it?
no subject
I don't think it's here, so I can't give it to you, unfortunately. Anyway, I hadn't decided whether or not to share it with the public yet. I can describe it though. Back home Sorey and I grew up reading the Shepherd's journal, known as the Celestial Record. His adventures were impressive and inspiring for us, and we always longed to go on a journey like that. It's easy for things to look exciting and shiny in a book read by a child, though. It was very idealistic.
When the two of us went on our own journey, it was full of hardships, too. Not all good or bad, but it was painful and complicated as much as joyful. I wrote a book about our journey, and I didn't mince words. If it inspires children to go adventuring in the future, they should know how difficult it is.

It's a book! Since you know it exists, that means you can find it on your relic if you look for it. Any book you know about is available there. Even knowing of a book gives you access. Of course, we still need the libraries to find books we DON'T know about.
That sounds like a perfect book for me to read. I am early on in my adventures, so if you think a teenager should know about it, that's me. I'm your audience! You don't have to share, though. I've already chosen to go on adventures, and I'm sure they'll be full of hardships. So I doubt I'll turn back.

[How familiar... this had been Mayvin's test to them, all those years ago, and many more tests before to gauge the power of the Shepherd. How can you risk your life for the world if you can't risk your life for the power to save it?]
I suppose I'll look into it. I don't have to decide immediately if I want to share it. [Secretly, he's shy about it, oops.] Thank you.
Perhaps you'd like a copy of the Celestial Record, first. It's hard to appreciate one without the context of the other. I'll ask Sorey if he minds me borrowing it to transcribe.

[ It's all over the news, and Alluka remembers it because the ship is cute. ]
You don't! I know it's a lot to share something you made yourself, and if you do, I will be sure to cherish it as it deserves.
Oh that'd be fun! It'd fit right in with the kind of stuff I read for Histories class. I'd really appreciate you making a copy for me. Histories of other worlds can be as fantastic as a novel.

I do like the sound of a whale ship. It sounds fascinating.
Alright, I'll get to work on it, once he says yes. [Because he absolutely will.] It'll be easy to find the time, I can transcribe it while he's sleeping.

It even has a little ship floating in a pool on its back. I think that's where the VVVVVVIPs are staying, like the king and his family.
Oh thank— wait, don't you need to sleep? Or rest? You're awake all the time?
[ That sounds both terrifying and amazing. Both! Imagine having no breaks. You'd get so much more done, but also she likes her dreams and her bed. It'd feel silly to lie down in her bed if she couldn't even take a nap. ]
no subject
Does that mean average people can't ride there?
I can sleep if I want to, but I don't need to. It's convenient when I have work to do.
no subject
No, according to the news, there are different levels to the ship, and people usually stick to their level. I guess those levels are like mini-countries.
Oh, how often do you choose to sleep?
no subject
I used to sleep once every few weeks or so. One time I went a month, I was very busy. These days I sleep almost every night, though. If I'm traveling or living with someone who sleeps every day, I prefer to follow their schedule.
no subject
A whole month. Wow. I cannot imagine that. That sounds exhausting, mentally if not physically. Sharing a sleep schedule, when you don't have to, sounds very sweet. I like that.
[ It also touches Alluka that Mikleo chose to work on copying that book for her when Sorey's asleep given that means he's changing his habits just to help her. He doesn't have to, but he offered, so she doesn't ask him to take it back. That'd be rude. ]

[And several of those rules were broken by friends of his, in truth. It mostly caused trouble for themselves, not anyone else.]
It's harder to do the same thing every day, all day. We have minds that can grow idle as anyone else's if we get bored of what we're working on. It's good practice to take breaks from research, to stretch and look at something else for a while, clear our heads. The only difference is we don't get physically exhausted to the point of needing sleep. At least in normal circumstances.
[There was that time after the dragon fight where they were all so exhausted they passed the heck out...]

[ She never left home before the age of twelve. A lot later than most people, she knows, since she means home at all home. Like, not to school or library or anything. She's well made up for it in the couple years since then. Folkmore's a whole series of adventures. ]
Even the most fun things get boring in enough time! That's why variety is the spice of life. I'm used to having a routine, but even my routine has room in it for whatever catches my attention at a time, along with doing my homework and spending time with friends and family. You sound like you've really figured it out. I guess it only takes messing around so many times to find what works for you.
I like sleeping personally. My bed is super comfy, and dreams are always big adventures with their own rules and logic.

[Since most live in isolation, who would you possibly offend by doing whatever you please? It's sort of one of the perks of being a seraph. No tethers, no rules, no limits, just courtesy. Maybe things will change as resonance grows, and more people are able to see them.]
You might find it funny, but there are many seraphim who do the same thing for decades, even centuries, without getting bored at all. Time passes differently for us. Some can find a place to sit, get comfortable, and not even realize they've been sitting there for hundreds of years.
Sleeping is nice, though, I agree. I don't dream much, but I like waking up refreshed.
