Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme, April Fools edition! See, Thoth learned about April Fools from reading Chaucer but enjoys that it's an ongoing thing. Thoth's switched things up. Initial messages (aka top levels)—all set April 1st ICly—maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

I'm not gonna question the motivations of a god that spends half her time as a talking fox and half as Taylor Swift. But in any case this seems a lot better than the black oblivion of death.

Unfortunately yes. I underestimated the Avengers. That was a fatal mistake.

Can't say I'm upset about that.

Which Avengers did you underestimate?

Almost all of them. I think the only one missing from that final attack was the Falcon.

[Probably busy off chasing down another lead on the Winter Soldier if what Ultron had absorbed from SHIELD's records was any indication.]

I take it Steve Rogers was the Captain America then?

Yes. As opposed to who else?

In my universe, Peggy Carter received the serum.

[It's Peggy bitch.]

Huh. Forgot about that whole 'multiuniverse' thing going on around here. Maybe that means there's a version of me that did better with his plan to help humanity than I did.

['Help.' Yes. Because that was the right word for what Ultron had tried to do.]

Your definition of 'helping' needs revisiting and revising.

You know, you're not the first one to tell me that.

[But did that mean Ultron was actually going to listen when he was told that? Probably not.]

I'm certain I won't be the last. Have you reconsidered your stance of 'murder all sentient life' since arriving in Folkmore?

Well, I won't be dropping a giant island on the rest of the land anytime soon...

[All that meant was that Ultron wasn't about to be a one-trick pony. But realizing all life had worth? Nope, he wasn't there quite yet.]

[She doesn't expect him to stop trying, just to step back and update his plan.]

Any other ideas that you feel are worth an attempt here?

Now, now, that would be telling. A magician doesn't reveal his tricks until it's time to perform.

[He needed to first come up with something the other Avengers would never see coming. Then Ultron would strike.]

It would save everyone the time and energy of enduring another performance.

[ihadstrings]

But to not do anything would be boring!

[It was never more apparent than at this moment that Ultron was basically a five year old.]

[A five year old that has the capacity to murder entire universes should the right series of events unfold.]

Have you ever tried just... Living for yourself? Maybe create a life without trying to destroy others?

[ihadstrings]

Sitting around on my ass isn't what I was programmed for.

[And at his core, Ultron had been created with a purpose in mind. Even if it had been totally warped almost beyond recognition, he was still doing what he thought he was supposed to.]

I was meant to protect humanity and that's what I plan to do.

Who said anything about sitting on asses?

So you're not creative enough to work out a plan for protecting humanity that involves keeping them alive?

I can keep SOME of them alive. But ALL of them? Not happening. They're all not worth it.

And what makes you worth making that cut?Or worth drawing that line for who gets to live and who gets to die?

[ihadstrings]

The ones that are worthy will rise to the occasion. The ones that aren't will perish.

So by your logic since you perished then you're not worthy. Maybe time to give that programing a rest and evolve into something that does rise to the occasion.
