Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme, April Fools edition! See, Thoth learned about April Fools from reading Chaucer but enjoys that it's an ongoing thing. Thoth's switched things up. Initial messages (aka top levels)—all set April 1st ICly—maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

Well, there's the Buckies, there's the other you, and there's the other me, for starters.

They don't have to come to dinner.

And I've been trying to work on my steak and fries. I could make chips for your fish, but I don't think you wanna try the fish.

They can come. However, we should first check and see if the other me has plans. Oh, and you're going to need more than one cake with that many super soldiers.

Fries are more than fine. But, if you'd like to continue refining your steak and fries, I'd be happy to assist you. Strictly as a taste tester. I'm no good at cooking.

Well, I think she wanted a party, but that she and the other Steve were gonna have a private date. We could always schedule the party on another, close date. Something we can coordinate.

But if you want to have a guest list, you'll have to work that out with her. I'd hate to invite everyone and you have to be polite to people you don't like at your own party.

Anyway, you know I just want you to have a good time.

If she would like a party, then I say we ought to let her pick the date, the place, and the guests. That way they can have their date and we're able to celebrate her, too.

（ Peggy's never liked having any sort of fuss made about her. including parties. even as a child. celebrating others, though - even if one of them happens to be a version of herself. oh, that she enjoys doing. ）

No. No guest list. Not unless anyone from home also finds themself here.

[ Coming from anyone else it might sound a little passive-aggressive, but he's being earnest. ]

[ Clearly he typed that quickly so he can make his way over fast. ]

（ trusting him implicitly she heeds his warnings. so, when he arrives, Steve can find her several yards from the water's edge, seated on a bench and staring out across the lake. ）

Who, or what, is Greg?

（ she doesn't budge from her spot, but does turn her head in his direction when she hears him approach. ）

[ He parks his bike and quickly dismounts. ]

Greg's a mud creature who tries to kidnap anyone who comes too close to the lakes to marry him.

[ So, yes. He's very much trying to keep him away from Peggy. ]

Might've been successful. I haven't seen him in a moment.

（ that certainly wasn't what she was expecting him to say. and it shows in the way of an arched brow. ）

And you learned of this how? （ she half-teases, biting back a smile.

[ Because he'll go in, but, also no one's been missing as he knows. But, he does warn her: ]

Do me a favor and don't tell Tony. I'm banned from the lake. For Greg reasons.

（ it only takes her a heartbeat to decide on an answer about his plan. voice nearly cracking, ） I'd rather not. （ –watch him go under. for several reasons. mainly, though; she's already had to listen as a tentacled beast took Steve under, once before. she doesn't care to witness another (potentially) do the same.

Besides, who said it had to be you to go searching? （ never mind the fact that she settled on not going anywhere near the lake just moments before! ） I might not have the serum, but I'm one hell of a swimmer.

We don't have to go down to search, Peg.

[ He softens, thinking about how she might not want to see him in danger again. He'd had to relive that recently, for a trial. It hadn't been a good time. ]

Why don't we just steer clear? If you'd like, we could sit outside the entrance to the Tides. There's a whole ocean.

[ And they don't have to go in to enjoy the salt air and a nice walk. ]

（ she wouldn't imagine it to be; a good experience. nor could she imagine what more they'd gain by making him relive such an experience. ）

Only if you're certain you aren't missing anyone.

（ if all the people he cares about are accounted for there's no reason to tempt fate. otherwise, she'll be right alongside him.

tilting her head in Steve's direction, Peggy's brows raise. ）

Has it got any nasty creatures meandering about? （ a beat. ） Or given anyone a reason to advise you not to go there?

Well, Tides has a full Kraken on the way, but, he's actually kinda nice.

Especially if you bring him baked goods.

[ Is he joking? Is he serious? ]

But we don't have to go all the way there. And we can take my bike, if you'd like.

（ oh, she believes him about the baked goods. after all, who – or what – doesn't find their mood lifted after someone's brought them pastries? ）

Are there any bakeries we can pop in on the way there? （ because yes, she wants to go. ）

I would, actually. I've had my fill of walking long distances for the day. （ hell. maybe the rest of the week. standing she brushes past Steve to make her way towards the bike. ） The last time I was on one, Dum Dum was riding. （ she admits, smile returning. ） He's not half bad, if you can believe it.
