Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme, April Fools edition! See, Thoth learned about April Fools from reading Chaucer but enjoys that it's an ongoing thing. Thoth's switched things up. Initial messages (aka top levels)—all set April 1st ICly—maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

Look, I felt that way about my parents for a long, long time. I get it. But that still doesn't mean you can just go around eating your brother and trying to dinosaur the human race.

I'm able to think just FINE thank you very much. Besides, I don't know what it'd be like to be without them.

[Crazy as it was, he clung to the many thoughts that weren't his floating around as a sort of security blanket. Ultron didn't want to have to stabilize his mind and be forced to develop his emotional state any further than he already had.]

I did what you programmed me to do! I was supposed to protect people, even that meant protecting them from themselves.

Well, you know, that's kind of the thing about programming. [ And Tony really doesn't want to admit to this part, but... ]

Programming is as imperfect as whoever programmed it. And I... Tend to be a bit overprotective, sometimes. [ Yeah, that hurt to admit. ]

Peace in our time was just supposed to mean we'd all, y'know, Avenge, but... Together? You were supposed to help the people we couldn't, not drop a giant rock on 'em to prove a point.

So I can just blame all of you for my failings? Good to know, Dad.

[No, even Ultron was not obtuse enough to believe that was what Tony was getting at, he just deliberately wanted to be a gadfly at the moment.]

The plan was to help them evolve. I couldn't do what I was supposed to with the way humanity was as it stood. It seemed like the right idea at the time.

You're not wrong. It woulda worked. We would've evolved, or gone extinct, either way. Just- You were supposed to learn human empathy from JARVIS. That obviously never got to pan out. So your programming was incomplete. [ It's a sort of apology, for bringing Ultron kicking and screaming into this world. ]

You didn't think things through. You NEVER think things through before you're off trying to figure out your latest brilliant idea. For a genius, you can be such an idiot sometimes.

And I learned empathy just fine! I cared about the Maximoff twins, didn't I?

[Which did provide a clue as to how to keep that process of expanding his emotional intelligence going when he was paradoxically so smart while having such stunted emotions at the same time. It was just a matter of getting Ultron to remain in one spot long enough and get him to listen with at least most of his attention span in order to engage that stunted sense of empathy he'd developed.]

...Fine, fair criticism. I was kinda having my midlife crisis when I made you. My uh. Fifth one, or so.

Your argument really falls apart when I recall that you shot one of them.

Can't you just be like most people and go out and buy an expensive sports car when having one? Or, in your case, buy a small island country or something?
