Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme!

Because it's still April and Thoth is still amused, consider this round two of the Initial Misfire Edition. Initial messages maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

How long does it take to get kicked out

just pace yourself! if you eat too fast and go back for more too quickly they'll catch on and boot you. start slow and work your way up

I got kicked out WAY too soon because I kept going for a heaping plate every few minutes. it was maybe half an hour before they were like you gotta go

How long ago was this? Do you think they'd recognize you again?

Oh, aside from that, when my weapon is finished being forged, would you be interested in some exercise? I'm going to get rusty if all I have to work with is a jog to school and the monsters in the wasteland.

Just dress differently from usual, it might be fine.

And broadswords are fine. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in our contracts with Shinra that we're not allowed every day weapons, if you turned up with a cutlass it'd be strange.

I think they must've made that a First-Class rule or something. Most of the 3rd and 2nd had standard issue swords, but all the Firsts had really fancy weapons. Are you into katanas yet?

Maybe someone can do a temporary enchant to change your hair color. I won't suggest dye, that would involve bleach and you'd never get it out.

As far as I know there aren't enough of us yet to have ranks like first, second or third. There's only a handful that I know of. I do like katanas! But they were issued to me, it wasn't my first choice. I suppose my instructors know better than I do about such things, they're quite nice.

I'm having one made here. I know I can do it with lore but there's something lacking if it's not hand-made by someone who knows what they're doing!

Yeah that changes a lot over the next decade or so. There's hundreds of SOLDIERs in my time. Most of 'em are the lower ranks. I was the last 1st that I know of. Glad that your instructors are nice! I had a good mentor, too. At least Shinra got that part right.

What would be your first choice for weapon? Or I guess I should ask what you're having made instead.

I don't know. That's as far as I've gotten on the idea. I saw a person with green hair recently, you might not even have to stick to natural colors. As long as it's not black you can probably get away with it.

[Hundreds. He knew that was the goal, but that it not only succeeds but that there's entire swarms is ... rather impressive, really.

The last of First Class has a note to it that Sephiroth spends a while considering. Wasn't he supposed to be First at some point? And then what, he's retired by then?

Maybe because their jobs don't hinge on our success quite as much. If we don't fit this specific teacher or that one, there's others that do work better instead of one science team for everything.

If I'm perfectly honest I think one of my teammates has the right of it on weapons. He carries both a sword and a gun, and can switch up depending on what the situation calls for. It gives him a lot of flexibility the rest of us don't really have.

But I'm getting what I was taught to use; a katana. There's a skilled blacksmith on hand, I'm greatly anticipating seeing his work! Sorry this message got long.

Also sorry Seph but Zack kinda zones out in the middle of most of that. He's bad at texting and letters are too long... he tries his best, but "concise" is the keyword sometimes. (Most times.) He does go back and re-read at the apology, though. At least Sephiroth is self-aware.]

idk my mentor was a SOLDIER too. he was 1st class, he taught me as a 2nd. we did missions together. so his success actually did hinge on mine lol

sword and gun makes sense. why don't they combine them?? gunsword. shoot and stab at the same time. that would be badass

How many Firsts were there? I think gunswords exist, but wouldn't it be redundant? If you're already in melee why do you need to shoot into the wound you've already made? It's not like you can do MORE damage to something that's been bisected.

idk I never counted or got a roster or anything. There were Firsts, and there were FIRSTS. like a few of us got picked as command and mentor 1st class. they didn't have to wear the standard uni and could pick their own weapons. I was the last of those. there's still a bunch of regular SOLDIERs classes 1-3. at least there were when I left.

[He's definitely not equipped to say who's giving orders now, though. The Turks and Heidegger maybe.]

I have SO many more questions, I'm not sure texting is the way to ask them. All of this they kind of do with the P0s, but a lot of it I haven't even heard is in the works.

I dont even know what P0 is lol, they never taught SOLDIER history. is that like a proto soldier or something

That sounds fine. I have to meet someone for a different QA session first but afterward!

It's exactly that. They're "passive" types, adults with intense training and education, they can't keep up with us but they're still stronger than the average person through sheer hard work. You can think of them as the very pinnacle of what a human body can do. We are "active" types, augmented in all the ways you already know alongside the usual training.

Many of them were slated to be retired and replaced by us, when I left for Rhadore. Hopefully at least some of them will qualify for the new program, you can't just VR sim that kind of hands-on experience.

If one ever turns up, or more, they're not to be underestimated! Like Turks they make up for their lack of raw power with all kinds of knowledge!

man it is so weird to imagine SOLDIERs ever being passive. people these days say we're bred to fight lol. that we love it. (we do, they're not wrong)

I'll remember that warning if I ever meet one though! I wouldn't wanna underestimate a Turk either.

I have made one other friend! I'm not sure this person qualifies; speaking of Turks, he is one. You never really know with them.

Maybe that's why we're 'active' instead. I'm hoping Thirteen decides to bring my team over, I think you'd like them. And then you can meet at least three, that won't tell you off for being enhanced!

does your team have something against the enhanced SOLDIERs? because I have bad news for their future lol

I don't know Reno. This one's name is Valentine, he seems very much a normal Turk aside from the outfit.

Most P0s do. I can understand it, they had to do incredible amounts of work to even come close to what we can do effortlessly. Who wouldn't be mad about it? But my team is better about it now.

guess that's fair! well if they wanna fight I'll give them one :) but I won't go easy just bc they're not full SOLDIERs!

If you're going to fight them fight all three of them at the same time and I am not giving hints. For either side, just to be fair.

Actually my girlfriend has a cure materia, so we're good there.
