Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme!

Because it's still April and Thoth is still amused, consider this round two of the Initial Misfire Edition. Initial messages maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

That's understandable. But I have it on the highest authority that part of a job of a friend is being irritating. It's just something to consider. From what I have heard, most people who leave and come back do so without their memories of their times in this place. But I haven't been here for very long either. It's possible that I've missed something.

It seems like it would be cruel to erase everything that happens here, by way of growth or knowledge. Especially if it's true that some are taken at death. What do they have to return to?

That's one way to look at it. [ All things end. ] And I agree the deliberately erasing any growth or knowledge does seem counter to Thirteen's purposes. I suggest you keep asking questions. Not knowing the answers now doesn't mean we won't ever know them.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Hopefully someone has advice on what sort of offerings to make fox spirits to get their attention. I suppose it'll be more complicated than an email and a picture of mead.

That's an oddly specific comparison. What do you usually summon with a picture of mead?

When it's your friend I imagine that prayer is not particularly needed to get attention. Therefore, why would he have ever sent one, and thus know if it works?

I suppose prayer-answering wouldn't come up in casual conversation?

Honestly I can't believe nobody's tried it yet. If I had a god friend I certainly would have within the first day.

...yes. Yes, I do. Maybe the more emails he gets, the better the chances of the prayer being answered.

I'm going to have to do more research, I'm not sure spamming a god is generally a good idea. Maybe if it's kept to less than a dozen..

Probably a good call. Just be careful, he might take the pictures as you inviting to actually buy him mead.

[As far as Sephiroth can tell, the average god probably gets tens of thousands of prayers a day. A few emails isn't even going to be a BLIP.]

I'm learning how mead is made currently just in case. I know you can just lore one up but I've found if you actually know how something's made first the end product is superior. Just in case.

As long as nothing else is expected but the mead I should be okay.

If I know Thor, and I do, you'll be just fine. I never thought to ask him about prayers when we were on the same team, but now I see I was remiss.

I hope you're right. From what little reading I've done, most gods who are into the whole alcohol for offerings thing also tend to not be the divine wrath sorts without a lot of provocation.

Any other advice? :) I want to make a good impression if it ever happens.

Yes. Tony and I go way back. Thor's divine wrath pretty much always has severe provocation. I think you'll be all right.

World takeovers, wasn't it? Thor is not the sort of god that is omnipresent and omnipowerful, then. For the best usually, but not so much in a conflict when you could use that power.

Thor is part of a pantheon, or at least that's what we called it on Earth. I've never met anyone omnipowerful. Well. Before the fox. And I wouldn't be surprised if there was something less than omni about her too.

A person may be in full control of their own sandbox so to speak without having that same power elsewhere! The fox might have kin running their own Folkmores their own ways.

That's a good way of looking at it. [ It is. It shows strategy. She's impressed. ]
