Texts From Last Night

Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. (You also don't have to use TFLN itself as a source for your messages, or you can modify them for your character.) This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.
This can be used for samples on our applications and used as spoons for players accepted into the game!
use not required, other sources are ok too

Absolutely. Everyone wants the world to be a better place for those people coming after them.

Maybe it'll happen. Someday.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm hoping things get nicer for the kids coming up behind me. I'm not much of a mentor. [ He says kids like he's not barely out of his teens. ] But they're so precocious and cute!
no subject
He doesn't say so. He pretty much never says so. ] You're welcome. You don't have to be a mentor to make the world a better place for them. The fact it's a general desire, not because you care about one person in particular, makes it stand out all the more.

Yeah, but a lot of pros have interns and things. I mean, I have one too, but my sidekicks are taking care of him.
no subject
So why'd you choose him if you're leaving him to your sidekicks? [ The hero nomenclature alone is amusing. ]
no subject
When his work study happened, I was able to spend time with him but ah, I'm working on something. I didn't have time for an intern. I'm working close to 21 hours a day...not exactly a schedule for a kid.
no subject
How many hours in a day do you have?
[ Folkmore and most people from Earth here it seems have twenty-four hours in a day. Only 1/8 of Hawks's time sleeping (much less fitting in anything else) is extremely harsh on typical human anatomy. As a revenant Jedao never slept, but outside the Black Cradle he was attached to a host, who did sleep. Sleeping hours were fairly boring, but he got a lot of thinking done then. ]

[ He's been tired, but he manages with a few catnaps here and there. Ten minute power naps and caffeine. ]
no subject
It doesn't matter how many hours they put in a day, there's never enough. They'll fill them.
no subject
Yeah, well there's always more to do, isn't there?
no subject
More than could be done in a single lifetime. At some point, everything becomes someone else's problem. We just might not be there to see it.
no subject
Well, here's hoping. I'm hoping that things settle down soon, that's what I want you know? Just a place where the heroes don't have to be so busy.
no subject
[ Jedao deliberately stretches, big and casual. ] Spent so long in the military, not having my schedule dictated to me is a pleasant change.
no subject
Oh well...I've pretty much memorized my schedule, I'm used to it. Long hours when you work in heroics, you know?
no subject
[ Memorizing isn't the issue. Jedao's lived by calendars his whole life, a society-wide schedule required for higher technology to work. He could remember his military schedule with ease, but that's not the point. ] No one's making you keep that schedule here. There's fewer than three hundred Star Children in total. How much heroing is there to do?
no subject
[ He definitely can't afford getting caught slacking off. ]
no subject
[ Jedao shrugs without much judgment. He's one of the people it got. He didn't follow the precautions either. He doesn't hold his death against the fae. Fae gonna fae. ]
no subject
[ It's just how he feels, he wants to protect as many people as he can. ]
no subject
[ He doesn't expect the guy to listen, but if Hawks is going to worry about everyone else, someone can worry about him. ]
no subject
[ He's also very slippery and fast, so he has full faith in his abilities. What can the fox really do to him? ]
no subject

In our world, hawks are a creature. A bird. [ He ruffles his wings. His codename is pretty straightforward. ] They're birds of prey. Predators.
no subject
And Kel... [ Jedao sighs. He's been fond of quite a few Kel, nearly all of them dead now. ] They live up to the name, and fuck High Command. They deserved their deaths for all the Kel they sacrificed for the stupidest reasons.
