No vampire I know would be caught living working at a fast food restaurant.

The same stance as I have on outcasts in my own world: we're both unjustly persecuted due to humans innate, and pathetic, fear of the unknown.

Humans are easily frightened. Even prior to the discovery of my abilities I found an abundance of ways to bring fear to whomever I desired to.

There is something less enjoyable about causing it simply by existing.
