There is also the Black Flower, which had been sealed away, before eventually being destroyed after eliminating the rest of the Lords of the Land. However, a threat on that scale would be far more visible.

My world has nothing like that. At most, there's an evil darkness that invades people's minds and turns them into monsters, but it's no evil flower.

I don't think it's a demon, but I couldn't tell you exactly what it is. It's just some supernatural thing from beneath the lake that likes to possess people and kill innocents. It's very rude.
