[One under the pillow and the other apparently shoved into a planter. What was he thinking?

Whatever, shoes are found, shoes are on, time to fuck off for waffles.]

Suppose there's worse places it coulda been. C'mon, food's waiting.

[ He snorts a little. ] Was waiting on you.

[ How Kingsley looks so put together this early in the morning after being so drunk last night is anyone’s guess. ]

[Fjord just rolls his eyes with a huff of his own.]

Right, right, alright then.

[At least one of them looks like something less than a hot mess. Fjord's too hung over or maybe drunk to really fuss over his appearance at the moment.]

[ No one has to know that Kingsley has been up for hours and that’s why he’s had time to not be as much of a mess. It’s fine.

Once Fjord is up and they head out of the house, it’s just a matter of finding a place to eat that serves waffles. In the meantime, it’s not a bad day for a walk. ]

[It's totally fine. And honestly if Fjord gets too self-conscious about being a mess, he'll just shift forms and Kingsley will have to talk his way into the Folkmore equivalent of a Waffle House with a wolf.]

You're lookin' pretty peppy for how much you drank last night.

[ It sure would make for an interesting story, anyway.

With a chuckle, Kingsley shrugs. ]

It helps to stay hydrated even while you’re getting wasted.

[ He may get drunk, but he’s going to at least be responsible about it. ]

Oh don't you start with that sensible responsibility stuff, it's far too late for that in my case.

I mean, it’s a good thing to keep in mind for next time.

I'd like to claim that there won't be a next time, but we both know that's a lie.

[ He snorts a little. ] That’s what I figured, just from what I know of you all already.

Yeah, we're probably not the best choice to look for insofar as responsible life choices go.

[Oh thank god is that the diner because Fjord is a little over the sunshine-y day thing going on right now.]

Well, I’d say there are worse models, but I haven’t met any yet, so…

[ Yes finally the diner. Kingsley opens the door for Fjord with a mock bow and an overly grand gesture for him to enter first. ]

Someday you will, and we'll all look like paragons of adulthood and virtue.

[Just gonna shuffle on in, relieved to be out of the sunshine and plunk himself in the booth farthest from the sunny windows as possible. And maybe slouch a couple extra inches down, because why not?]

[ Kingsley laughs. ] “Paragons” might be a bit of a stretch.

[ He follows Fjord to the booth, sliding into the seat a bit more gracefully, flagging down a server for some water. ]

I dunno about that, there's some real dumbasses out in the world.

[water and coffee while he squints at the menu and tries to decide what sounds least likely to rebel on him later.]

I’m not sure if that makes me more interested in meeting them or not.

[ Kingsley orders something pretty simple, some eggs, sausages, and toast. It’s enough to be filling without feeling too heavy. ]

Imagine the ridiculous stories you'd come away with though.

[Waffles, bacon, and whatever else comes with that, he's not overly picky right now as he just tries to melt into the booth seat without being too overt about it.]
