Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme, April Fools edition! See, Thoth learned about April Fools from reading Chaucer but enjoys that it's an ongoing thing. Thoth's switched things up. Initial messages (aka top levels)—all set April 1st ICly—maaaaay go to the wrong person! So not all hell breaks loose, replies carry forward with whoever you've reached, but you might be texting your innermost intoxicated or sleep deprived secret to someone you don't even know.

If you'd like to opt out of misfires, please include this in your top level (by prompt or overall). Otherwise, enjoy indulging Thoth's amusement and building some new CR.

This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and as spoons for players accepted into the game.

Most people think Savage is older just because of how big he is.

[7'2" and built like a tank. Maul wasn't short but even he barely came up to the top of Savage's chest.]

But no. I am the eldest and therefore it's my job to look out for him.

I personally find it hard to see anything worth respecting about my enemies.

I have my moments, that my anger makes it difficult for me, as well. But in the long run, not respecting my enemies would make it difficult to make any sort of peace with them.

Interesting to find someone who wants to make peace with their enemies so willingly.

[Then there was Maul who would hold onto a grudge and hatred for another until the heat-death of the entire universe.]

I tried to unite Mandalore. I wouldn't have gotten far by writing off everyone who ever disagreed with me.

There's a difference between 'disagreed with me' and 'respecting the Sith Lord who murdered me just to hurt someone else.'

Pre Vizsla told me what I am sure was a HIGHLY biased version of the history of your planet and how you came to be in power.

So you decided to conquer a people without knowing much about them. Lovely.

When I was 'disagreed with', I very often meant they killed members of my clan, or allies, or tried to kill me.

Granted, I when did spend my tenure as Duchess trying to shift that more towards disagreeing with words.

It was not personal. Not entirely anyway. When I found out Kenobi's connection to your planet, the opportunity was just too good to pass up and incorporate as part of my revenge scheme.

Disagreeing with words is something many of my friends have tried to push me towards and with only limited success.

Spare me your excuses, revenge is entirely personal.

Did you find any sort of peace or healing in it? Or merely a moment of satisfaction?

Why do you think I would tell you something so deeply personal? We are not friends.

I just said - revenge is personal. Intentionally destroying someone's life, killing them, is that not a sort of intimacy? Can you not spare some honesty for your victims?

If you cannot bring yourself to offer it to me, or perhaps Obi-Wan, I hope you can be honest with yourself.

Most of my victims haven't come back from the dead. It's not something I am used to dealing with.

And I've already been honest enough with Obi-Wan. Why do you think I haven't tried to kill him again? He doesn't need to be burdened anymore with the shadows of my past than he already is.

Forgive me for fooling myself for a moment into believing you might engage with me as an actual person.

I am not a shadow, Maul. Yours or Obi-Wan's.

You are a very difficult and vexing woman. I can see how you and your sister are related now.

You want to know the truth? No, it did not give me peace or healing, but neither of those was what I was after. I was angry and in pain and wanted everyone else around me to be angry and in pain as well. I wanted people to suffer the way I had suffered for fourteen long years. And I am supremely good at getting what I want most of the time.

I am puzzled. Are you attempting to brag, or conceding that you failed?

Neither. You asked a question and I answered. It is not my fault you are too witless to understand what I am explaining.

That is neither a reason for your actions, nor a summary of that you actually accomplished. [In fact, she rather thinks he continues to dodge the issue.]

Such a statement serves some other rhetorical purpose.

[Dodging the issue was one of the things Maul was most emotionally adept at, rather than actually holding himself accountable for the many terrible things he had done in his life.]

I merely pointed that out because in the end I wanted to cause Kenobi as much pain as I was in and I succeeded in that goal. Taking you away from him was a satisfying accomplishment. At least for a time.
